This is Pastor Brian Zahnd. I had heard about him and his blog some time ago. I gave him a shot and started reading. At that time (perhaps back in the October entries) I found him somewhat irritating and self-indulgent. Upon revisiting his site - www.brianzahnd.com – I think I can keep going back.
What sealed it was his “Books” entry this month. I mean, how could I NOT like a guy who is a thinking pastor, a creative individual, and has FIVE, yes FIVE N.T. Wright books on his top ten list from the last two years. Then, to add even more intrigue, he goes and throws in Walter Brueggeman. I’ll follow along for awhile now, just to make sure he is putting all that fabulous reading to a modest amount of use!
Amid all the things I have been reading lately purporting to speak for and to ‘the prophetic’ and ‘the apostolic’, I am finding Brian Zahnd a sweet breath of fresh air.
